Approach

Consortium Defence & Robotics — CDR — is the group's defence venture, set up around a single thesis: India's defence-industrial base needs sovereign manufacturers at the intersection of metal and software, run by people who can ship both. The country has world-class system integrators and excellent fabricators, but the gap between them — the ability to design, build and command an autonomous platform end-to-end inside India — has been thin. CDR is being built to close it.

The company is in its incorporation and capability-build phase. Initial programmes focus on precision munitions sub-systems and on small unmanned aerial and ground platforms, with an autonomous-command software layer developed in concert with our sister company Consortium. CDR will manufacture from the works in India, using the group's metal and electronics depth, and will operate on a publicly-quiet, customer-led basis — speaking through deliveries rather than press.
